This is a Math Teacher position. The Teacher position serves as a classroom teacher and establishes a learning environment in which students can develop.

The USDA Forest Service has legislative authority to recruit and fill Permanent (Career/Career-Conditional), Temporary, and Term Appointments under the USDA Demonstration Project. Under this authority, any U.S. citizen may apply.

Subject to a negative drug test prior to entrance on duty. Willing to live/work in remote locations. PROBATION Primary duty: Math Teacher. Instructs students in a number of educational program areas and provides constructive criticism to students regarding problems and discipline matters. Deals independently with students and other officials concerning individual student problems, referring discipline matters to the supervisor if they are unusual or severe. Integrates with other teams or departments to provide students with a holistic learning experience. Develops, selects, and adapts methods and techniques to be used in teaching the lesson to permit adaptation to individual differences in interests and ability and improve the quality of instruction. Evaluates individual academic progress.

DRUG TESTING: This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). Selectee must submit to a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and random testing thereafter. Final appointment and continued employment is conditional on negative results for illegal drug use.

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor''s degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that included or was supplemented by supervised student teaching, and at least one course in each of the following areas: general psychology, human development, history and/or philosophy of education, and teaching methods at the learning level of the position to be filled, i.e., elementary or secondary learning level. For secondary school teaching positions, applicants must also have had at least 24 semester hours (or equivalent) of course work in each of the principal fields of instruction;
OR-
Combination of education and experience - Applicants who have completed a full 4-year course of study in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university leading to a bachelor''s degree but who do not meet the specific course requirements shown above meet minimum qualification requirements if they have completed at least one full academic year of professional teaching experience at the elementary or secondary school level as appropriate to the position to be filled. Professional teaching experience is defined as full and primary responsibility for the instruction of assigned students under general supervision in a recognized or accredited school or other accredited educational institution. This includes responsibility for preparation and presentation of lessons and the evaluation of students'' progress throughout the learning period, including a determination of the students'' success or failure according to established criteria;
OR-
Teacher certification or licensure in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
In addition to the Basic Requirements above, applicants must have :
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level;
OR-
Two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master''s degree _or _master''s or equivalent graduate degree;
OR-
An appropriate combination of specialized experience and education.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
